Lincoln Rd Concrete Stripping & Sealant

Owner: City of Miami Beach

Completion: In Progress

Project ID: 2025-1720-030

Overview:

Located in the heart of one of Miami Beach’s most iconic pedestrian destinations, this project focused on the restoration of heavily painted and weathered concrete surfaces along Lincoln Road and Euclid Ave. The goal was to remove old coatings, deeply clean the concrete, and provide long-lasting protection—enhancing both aesthetics and durability in a high-traffic environment exposed to coastal weather conditions.

Products & Methods:

To ensure a safe, thorough, and effective restoration, the following high-performance Prosoco products were used:

  • Prosoco Sure Klean® Heavy Duty Paint Stripper – A powerful alkaline paint remover formulated to strip multiple layers of acrylic, latex, and oil-based coatings from concrete surfaces.

  • Prosoco Heavy Duty Concrete Cleaner – An industrial-grade cleaner used post-stripping to remove residues, embedded grime, and prepare the substrate for sealing.

  • Prosoco Consolideck® LS® – A lithium-silicate concrete sealer designed to densify, harden, and protect concrete, while enhancing its natural appearance and resistance to moisture and abrasion.

Process:

  1. Surface Preparation & Paint Removal
Existing paint layers were softened and lifted using Sure Klean® Heavy Duty Paint Stripper, applied evenly to the affected concrete surfaces. After proper dwell time, the coatings were agitated and removed with high-pressure washing and manual scraping as needed.

  2. Deep Cleaning & Neutralization
The exposed concrete was then cleaned using Heavy Duty Concrete Cleaner to remove remaining chemical residues and embedded contaminants. Surfaces were thoroughly rinsed to neutralize pH levels, ensuring compatibility with the sealing phase.

  3. Sealing & Protection
Once dry and fully cured, the clean concrete surfaces were treated with Consolideck® LS®, applied via low-pressure sprayer and back-rolled to ensure even coverage and full penetration. The lithium-silicate formulation strengthened the concrete matrix, enhanced stain resistance, and provided a low-sheen, natural finish suitable for heavy pedestrian traffic.

This project successfully revived the visual and structural integrity of Lincoln Road’s concrete paving, ensuring a longer lifespan and cleaner appearance for years to come.
